中島みゆき at 渋谷シアターコクーン

1/12、恒例のみゆきネエさんの夜会を観に、渋谷東急文化村のシアターコクーンへ。13回目となる今回のタイトルは「24時着０時発」。いつも行ってるライブハウスと比べて何倍も大きなホールに、なぜか緊張してしまう自分が情けない。しかし、今回の席はなんと最前列！視界に他の客は見えないので、結局いつものライブハウスで観る感覚なのがうれしいというか、ぜいたくというか。

さすがに目の前数メートルで歌うみゆきさんは圧巻。息づかいまで伝わってきて、確かにみゆきさんがここで歌っているのだという当然の事実にシンプルに感動する。また、ステージの床下で演奏しているバンドメンバーがじっくり見れるのも最前列の特権。特にみゆきさんの影武者(?)として歌う杉本和代さんの姿がばっちり見えたのがうれしい。

２時間以上ほぼ舞台に出ずっぱりで、二十数曲におよぶ歌を歌い続けるみゆきさんのバイタリティには脱帽。特に、ステージラストの曲「サーモンダンス」では、みゆきさんが激しくも華麗なタップ調のダンスを１曲分踊り通し、観客から盛んな拍手をあびていた。このダンスは将来、伝説となりそうだ。また、夜会テーマ曲の「二雙の舟」をのぞき、ほとんどがオリジナル曲というのもスゴイ。昔からのファンにとっては既存の曲で構成してくれたほうがウケがいいと思うのだが、ここに妥協を許さない姿勢が表れている。

客層はスーツ系が多く、自分もわざわざ黒いコートなんか着ていったりしてみる。かつて高校生～受験時代にANNを聴いていた人たちは、いまや働き盛りの年齢でそれ相応という気もするのだが、いや、もしかしたら客層がすっかり変わってしまっているのかも。実際はどうなんだろうか。
