マリカミズキ in 水木土Gallery

11月3日、越谷の東武線蒲生駅近くの水木土Galleryにて、奄美の若手唄者中村瑞希＆吉原まりかライヴ。会場は、１階が喫茶店、２階が小さなギャラリーとなっていて、開設４年目を迎えるとのこと。今回の企画は、奄美出身で大島紬服飾研究家の森エイコさん（越谷在住）による作品展示会とジョイント。実は森さんの実家と中村瑞希さんの自宅は、同じ笠利町のご近所同士らしい。

集まったお客さんは30人ほどで、ほとんどがナマ島唄初体験の近所の主婦の方だったもよう。店主さんが最初の挨拶で「マリカミズキさんと吉原まりかさん」と紹介して場内笑（マリカミズキは二人のユニット名）。いよいよご本人登場！瑞希さんが三線を弾き、２人で唄と囃子というスタイル。マイクなしだが、瑞希さんが歌い始めるとピンと張りのある心地よい唄声が会場全体を包み込む。１曲１曲、その唄の由来や歌詞の意味を丁寧に語る（説明の紙も配られていた）。説明はほとんど瑞希さんだったが、何曲かは瑞希さんがまりかさんに振り、はにかみながら応えるまりかさん。このやりとりがほほえましく、お客さんも笑顔。「これでもまりかは昨日よりはしゃべってますね」と瑞希さん。昨日も同じ会場でライブがあったのだが、２人とも緊張してあまり話せなかったとのこと。

演目は、お決まりの「朝花節」から始まり、「こうき節」「らんかん橋」「請くま慢女節」「やちゃ坊節」「長雲節」「糸繰り節」「行きゅんにゃ加那」...と、前半後半あわせて30曲近くもあったのではないだろうか。そのレパートリーの多さに驚嘆。２人の掛け合いも聴きどころ。会場が狭いこともあって、わずか２ｍ以内の至近距離で聴く２人の声はビンビンとカラダに響いてくる。モンゴルのホーミーや声明（しょうみょう）に通じる空気の振動。しかもマイクなし。すごいよ、これは。

なお、途中の休憩では、瑞希さんのお母さん手づくりのサーターアンダギー（奄美ではなんという？）と、まりかさんのお母さんの蒸しケーキがお客さんに配られる。ん～、アットホーム。

ライブのシメはやはり六調。瑞希さんの早弾き全開。お客さんも見よう見まねで踊りに加わっていた（すいません、私は恥ずかしくて踊れませんでした）。ライブの後、少しだけお二人とお話ができ、丁寧なイラスト付きのサインもしてもらう（ミーハー）。瑞希さんは地元で保母さんをしているそうだが、まりかさんも現在短大で保育士を目指し、将来は奄美に戻りたいそうだ。ん～、なんかいいなあ。私も島に生まれたかった（あ、北海道は島か？）。
