普天間かおり in R's Art Court

11/21、大久保の労音会館（R's Art Court）で普天間かおりさんのライブ。普天間かおりとして活動をスタートして５年、いよいよ先月、CD「髪なんか切ったりしない」でメジャーレーベルデビューを果たした。今回はその報告ライブといった感じ。

ステージはそのCDのカップリング曲「あくび」からスタート。最初は音響の調整がイマイチだったためか、ちょっと調子が出ていないかな？と感じたが、「いつかの空」や「CHAMP☆LOO」「花」と歌ううちに声の出がどんどん力強く、美しく、伸びやかになっていく。特に「花」（喜納昌吉）では、普天間さんのカラダがひとつの楽器になったように、その全身を揺さぶりながら歌っていて圧倒される。こんな迫力ある「花」は初めて。

普天間さんはＤＪ歴が長いだけに、さすがにおしゃべりも上等。今夜の話題は恋。サポートメンバーひとりひとりに初恋を告白させる普天間さん。だが、メンバーもクセモノ。ピアノの松下さん「初恋は小学三年生ですね。（おっ！）それからずっと恋をし続けています、音楽と（ドテッ）」などとはぐらかす始末。なお、普天間さん自身の初恋の相手は、近所のさとるニーニーだったそうで、通学路を一緒に歩いたエピソードなどを照れながら語る。そんな話題のときは沖縄イントネーションも全開で、なんだか自然体でいい感じ。

ライブ終盤は、「夕凪」「R329」と情感たっぷりのバラードを続けて歌い上げていく。特に「R329」は、国道329号線沿いの複雑な現実の風景を描きつつ、忘れ得ぬ沖縄への深い想いを表現した好作品。そして最後の曲は「髪なんか切ったりしない」。歌詞を変えつつ長く暖めてきたこの歌をついにCDとして形にしただけに、感慨も深いよう。アンコールでも「大好きなあなた」の次に再びカラオケバージョンでこの曲を歌っていた。

今回のライブで強く感じたのは、普天間さんの好感度の高さ。お客さんを楽しませつつも、しっかり自分の歌を歌っていきたい、もっと好きな歌を歌いたい、という気概が伝わってくる。そして、その姿勢を見て、ファンも心から応援したくなってしまうのだろう。それぞれの曲に込められた「大切なものがあるでしょう、変わらぬ愛があるでしょう」というメッセージも力強い。多くのライブを重ねながら着実にファンを獲得してきたそのプロセスは、まるで演歌（レーベルもテイチクだし）。そして今後もこのスタイルで自分の歌を届けていきたいと語る普天間さん。まだまだ彼女の歌は大きく広がっていくチカラを持っている。

We have a habit in writing articles published in scientific journals to make the work as finished as possible, to cover up all the tracks, to not worry about the blind alleys or describe how you had the wrong idea first, and so on. So there isn't any place to publish, in a dignified manner, what you actually did in order to get to do the work. by empirepoker
