安里勇 in 安里屋（石垣島）

1/10、念願だった安里勇さん（黒島出身の唄者）のお店「安里屋」に初めて足を踏み入れる。「安里屋」は、石垣市の歓楽街、美崎町のおーりとーりアーチをくぐってちょっと歩いた場所にあった。ステージは一日２回（９時＆11時）とのこと。お客さんは私のほかに地元常連客数名と本土の観光客２組（10人＆２人）。９時過ぎに安里さんが舞台に登場。さすがに海人（うみんちゅ）を感じさせる精悍な顔つきと艶やかで浅黒い肌が印象的。今夜は民謡初心者の観光客にあわせた演目のようで、民謡数曲のほかは「島唄」「涙そうそう」など。定番の「安里屋ユンタ」は、その唄の由来を軽い冗談まじりで解説。大げさでない静かな語り口でやさしく面白く解説してくれる安里さんがなにげにカッコいい。私としては最後に歌ってくれた「鳩間の港」がなかなかうれしかった。お店の壁に山里勇吉さんからの開店祝いの色紙発見。泡盛２杯とステージ込みで３千円。いい気持ちで宿に戻る。
