築地俊造、大工哲弘、RIKKI in サントリーホール

1/27、赤坂サントリーホールで「島唄～過去から未来へ歌い継ぐ～」というイベント。出演は築地俊造さん、大工哲弘さん（てっちー！）、RIKKIさんという豪華メンバー、しかも無料！というのにひかれて雨のなか足を運ぶ。え？あの大ホールでやるの？と思っていたら実は小ホール（それでも500人近くのキャパ）。主催は総合研究大学院大学ということで、案の定、会場はなにやらお上品な雰囲気...。

前半は、文化人類学者の先生２人と出演者３人のトークセッション。テーマはひとことで言えば「世代間交流」。奄美の唄遊び（うたあしび）、沖縄の毛遊び（もうあしび）のように、老若男女が夜を徹して唄の掛け合いや踊りを楽しみ、文化を伝承している状況をモデルケースにしたいらしい。大工さんは、沖縄本島のエイサーや白保のお祭りの様子を紹介。「沖縄では、エイサーの時期に暴走族がいなくなる、ということわざがあります」と会場を笑わす。

築地さんは、現在の島唄伝承の問題点を指摘。いま奄美によくある民謡教室は、先生の唄だけに染まってしまい、各集落（シマ）ごとの唄の特徴を消してしまうおそれがあるとのこと。また、本来はその場の全員が掛け合って遊ぶ島唄が、現在は見せる側と見る側に分かれがちで、これを以前の唄遊びの形態に戻していきたい、とも語る。沖縄と違って工工四（楽譜）がない奄美民謡だからこそ、どう伝承していくかが大切ということだろう。

築地さんがいうには、本当の唄遊びを幼少時の記憶として持つ最後の世代がRIKKIの世代とのこと。そのRIKKIは、いま住んでいる東京の生活のなかで生まれる自分のシマウタを唄っていきたい、と語る。こう語るRIKKIは、いつもながら気負いのない自然体ですがすがしい。大工さんも、「そんないまのRIKKIに憧れて唄う奄美の若者も多いはず」とフォロー。

後半は、お待ちかねの民謡タイム。まずは築地俊造さんとRIKKIとで、「朝花節」「嘉徳なべ加那」「まんこい」「むちゃ加那」「糸繰り節」など。RIKKIが「島唄は、恋の唄、仕事唄、お祝いの唄と大きく分けて３種類あります」など、築地さんが調弦する間に解説。続いて大工さん登場！「ここにはシンフォニーホールがあるんで、（大工だけに）第九でもやろうかと思ったんですが」と笑わす。ところが「あ、じゃあやりましょうか」と本当に第九を三線で弾いてしまう！（しかも唄付き！）やったあとは「学者先生の前であんまり遊んではいけませんね」と反省の弁(笑)。そのあとは「でぃらぐに」「奄美小唄」と続き、「猫小（まやぐゎー）唄」では観客に「さーみゃうみゃう」とお囃子をいれさせ、堅苦しかった会場も陽気な「てっちーワールド」に引き込まれていく。

最後は「安里屋ユンタ」に続いて、築地さん、RIKKIも舞台に戻り、３人で「ワイド節」。三線と太鼓を同時に鳴らす築地さんのはなれワザに会場もどよめく（この見せ場は最後までとっておいたらしい）。「踊る人がいなかったら途中でやめますよ」と築地さんが言ったのが効いたのか、お客さん30人近くがステージにあがって踊り、シメにふさわしい盛り上がりとなった。最初は主催者側の段取りの悪さもあってどうなることかと思ったが、３人の有意義なお話と演奏が聴けて、とてもおトクなイベントだった（無料だし...、え、でもこれって税金？）。
