トルネード竜巻、NIRGILIS at 渋谷タワーレコード

7/4、渋谷タワレコB1でNIRGILISとトルネード竜巻の無料インストアライヴ。それぞれのレコ発に合わせたイベント。

NIRGILIS(ニルギリス)は関西出身の５人組バンド。
1. Lucky Star
2. KING
3. アイススケート・フォー・ライフ
「トルネード竜巻さんは、かなりウマが合うバンドさんです。すごく時間が少ないですけど楽しんでいってください」
4. Mule
5. 真夜中のシュナイダー

ボーカルのアッチュさんは、新アルバムのジャケット写真そのままの制服っぽい水色の衣装で登場し、ステージを左右に動きまわりながら熱唱。また、各メンバーもチカラのこもった演奏で、徐々に会場は気持ちの良い高揚感に包まれていった。特に最後の「真夜中のシュナイダー」はエンドレスなリズム展開でトランス状態へと引き込まれそうになる。生音とデジタルエフェクトサウンドとが繊細かつ大胆に融合されたステージが新鮮だった。

トルネード竜巻は東京で結成された４人組バンド。ボーカルの名嘉真祈子さんは沖縄出身。今回はベースとコーラスのサポートが付いて６人編成で登場した。

去年の春先はiPodで繰り返し聴いていたトル竜だが、生で聴くのは今回が初めて。前半ちょっとおとなしめだな～と思っていたら、後半は激音モードに突入。予想以上にエキセントリックでワイルドな演奏に観客も大喜び。改めて感じたのが、名嘉さんの透明かつドライな声質の素晴らしさ。この声あってこそ、曽我氏が練り込んだスリリングな展開のサウンドがぐっと生きてくる。なんとも微妙なバランスの上で成立しているこのキテレツかつ洗練されたバンドが、今後どのような音を聴かせてくれるのか非常に楽しみ。
